Scrumptious web copy for one of the UK’s leading cider makers
Like cider? Hopefully you’ll love the copy I’ve written for this brand new site for Saxby’s cider makers based in Northamptonshire.
Saxby’s philosophy is to make authentic cider using fruit from English trees and combination of both traditional and modern techniques. They’ve proved that cider doesn’t have to be a bland production line drink. Nor does it have to be too niche, specialist or expensive for a mass market.
Saxby’s make their craft ciders in the UK using traditional recipes and modern production methods - but without any artificial ingredients, colourings or flavourings. They’re naturally gluten-free and both vegan and vegetarian friendly.
Saxby’s award-winning range of ciders are pressed on their own farm using real fruit juices and real cider and come in a variety of scrummy flavours: Saxby’s Original Cider, Saxby's Traditional Still Cider, Saxby's Limited Edition Cider, Saxby's Rhubarb Cider, Saxby's Plum Cider, Saxby's Blackcurrant Cider, Saxby's Mulled Cider for Christmas and Saxby's 3 Point 9, a traditional cider but with a lower alcohol level.
So why is there a pig on the home page and the company logo?
Well pigs are part of the Saxby family’s heritage. They used to run a business selling pork pies which were a favourite of 007 and The Saint actor, Roger Moore, who apparently used to eat them on the set of James Bond films. The pork pie business traded for over 100 years but closed in 2008. The pig logo is a tribute to those days, and Saxby’s still have pet pigs on the farm today, like Hermione and Herbert…
