ADS OF THE DAY: John Smith's Bitter

Two things I really miss.

Great beer advertising.

Funny advertising, for anything.

So it was a happy, happy day when I recently rediscovered this 48-sheet poster campaign for John Smith’s Bitter which is sadly no more.

We’ve all seen poster sites like this with half an old poster, half a new one.

But it’s one thing clocking it, and another thing altogether turning it into great, well-crafted advertising.

Get it right and you win awards.

Like a D&AD Yellow Pencil winner in the posters category, 1989.

Last poster in the series.

It's a poor-quality image so here's the copy:

He'll be spellbound by the bewitching YORKSHIRE FLAVOUR

LONDON NEW YORK PARIS TADCASTER.

Genius.
